Front Gateway Restoration - Project Update

The overall plan of restoration and improvement to the front gateway has been discussed in detail during recent SBHA Board meetings. This plan is shaping up to be a large set of projects. Listed below are the major project activity areas. A number of residents are asking when all of this will get started and the SBHA Board is anxious to move forward. However, we must wait until Gwinnett Co. officials have declared their Suwanee Dam Road work complete in the area around our gateway. The SBHA Board is now attempting to contact the proper officials to obtain this information. But in the meantime, we have started the process of contacting landscapers, painters, sprinkler companies, Georgia Power Co, etc. to obtain formal price quotes.

It still must be determined if we will be able to complete all the projects with the amount of Capital Improvement money that we have to work with. As of Nov. 17th, we are still about 30% behind in the Capital Improvement funding asked from each resident within Settles Bridge. Here are the major improvements being planned:

1999 SBHA Support - Funding Update

We would like to thank the following Settles Bridge families and residents who have pledged their 1999 financial support for the work of the SBHA and also have donated the additional $35 to the Capital Improvements fund to restore the front gateway:

Also, some residents have made special additional financial donations to the Capital Improvements Fund in excess of the minimum $35 asked of all Settles Bridge residents. A very special Thank You goes to these residents:

(These lists are accurate as of 11/21/99)

SBHA is still short about 30% of complete participation by all households in the neighborhood. Lack of total support may jeopardize the completion of the front gateway restoration. We will not obtain any assistance from the City or County to accomplish this. The Board is now investigating alternative methods in having all residents participate in this fund raising.

Christmas Luminary

Again this year, the SBHA Board is offering the Christmas Luminary kits free of charge to those SB residents who have made their 1999 financial pledges to the Association. More details about the annual Luminary will be in the December newsletter.

New Residence Directory On Its Way

The updated SBHA home directory listing is now in the process of being distributed. This latest directory contains all the updated information received from households within the last 6 months. If you desire changes to your recorded family information in the directory by next distribution please submit a new residence update form to the address on this newsletter. A copy of the form can be downloaded from the Settles Bridge web page or contact Ron Rogers.

December Newsletter Being Finalized

The December Settles Bridge Sentinel is being finalized now for distribution about Dec. 10th. One area being added to the newsletter is a "Want Ads" section. If you have something for sale that would be of interest to your SB neighbors or are looking for a particular item please jot it down and contact Diane Hawkins before Dec. 3rd.
