Downtown Development Authority (DDA):
Suwanee citizens and business owners make up this 7 member committee appointed by City Council. Meeting monthly, they are charged with undertaking projects to improve the Suwanee Old Town area and can serve as the construction and development arm of the City. They have the ability to raise revenue and expend funds.
Better Hometown Committee:
An informal standing volunteer organization that undertakes "grass-roots" projects to improve the City, particularly in Old Town. Consisting of several subcommittees (Promotions, Policy, Economic Development and Design issues) they have spearheaded various projects such as the Movies in the Park series upcoming this summer.
Old Town Master Plan Steering Committee:
A temporary steering committee appointed by the City to direct the City's "Imagine Suwanee" project, comprised of members of the DDA, Better Hometown Committee and other citizens. The Imagine Suwanee project is the development of our Old Town Master Plan. With monthly meetings to guide the City's consultants, there will also be 3 public input meetings.
