Suwanee's Open Space and Recreation Needs study will look at formal recreation programs (like a YMCA), passive recreation areas (playgrounds), passive open areas (soccer fields, etc.) and undisturbed land (like wooded areas around our subdivision). The City has money to spend - they just need to know where to spend it.
Suwanee hired Lose and Associates to find facts and produce a report. I have been to several of these meetings, and people like Chris Camp from Lose are very attentive to suggestions that are made. He writes down almost everything that is being said, and will often bring up ideas presented at one meeting will later in a different group.
There are two more public meetings planned - one on Monday, June 11 at the Ruby Forest Club House and the other on Tuesday, June 12 at George Pierce Park. Both meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and continue as long as ideas are being discussed.
